March 28, 2019: Bangor Public Library Fulbright Lecture; “Reunification of the Korean Peninsula.” Speakers: Graduate Student working group from UMaine's School of Policy and International Affairs. Panelists: Peter Madigan and others TBA. People should arrive around 3:30pm for the event, which begins at 4pm.  A networking dinner at 6pm for Fulbrighters (covered) and guests (for pay) will follow.   (Location: Minsky Lecture Hall, 3rd Floor, Bangor Public Library. 145 Harlow St, Bangor, Maine).

October 31, 2018. University of Maine at Farmington. Luncheon and Annual Meeting.  Welcome by UMF Interim President and Fulbright alum, Eric Brown. Prior to the luncheon and meeting, we attended a talk by the American pianist and composer, Anthony Davis. The title of his lecture and performance was "Race, White Backlash, and the Spiritual Quest:  Jazz Responds to the Struggle for Civil Rights."  Mr. Davis and the faculty organizer of the program joined us for lunch.

July 26, 2018: Joint Maine and New Hampshire Chapters Event, Portsmouth NH: Tour of the Pease International Trade Port; Sail to the Isles of Shoals; Dinner and Lecture; "The Art of Diplomacy: Commerce and Material Culture Across the Indian Ocean, 1602-1800," Ali Akhtar, (Bates College and ME Fulbright board member); and "China's Third Way: Opening China's Coastal Economy in the 1980s," Lawrence Reardon, (University off New Hampshire.)

November 3, 2014: Bates College; Civic Forum: iRwanda Debate Team.

The iRwanda Debate Team spoke about the emergence of the younger Rwandan generation’s voice in creating their own sense of identity and leadership aims; and how they are using debate to overcome the consequences and legacy of genocide to provide a new path for their nation. Co-sponsored by Bates College and the Maine Chapter of the Fulbright Association.

October 12, 2012: Owl’s Head Transportation Museum Tour. Two Visiting UMO Fulbright graduate students attended.

July 2012: Fulbright attendance at Maine International Film Festival.

2012: University of Maine Farmington named as a Fulbright “top producer” by the U.S. State Department.

October 23, 2010: Fall Theatre Weekend in Portland: Portland Stage Company Hitchcock’s 39 Steps; wine-tasting and dinner; Linda Britt, UMF professor and award-winning Maine playwright and theatrical director, “Through a Theatrical Lens”.

June 19, 2009, Annual Chapter Meeting, Colby College; Rob Lively spoke on his research for his book THE MORMON MISSIONARY: Who IS That Knocking at My Door? An agenda item was the need to rejuvenate/reinvigorate the board.

September 27, 2008: “UMaine Initiatives for Facing Environmental Challenges: A Day of Cultural and Environmental Awareness.” A collaboration between UMaine and the Maine Chapter of the Fulbright Association. Included original music, poetry, and dance. Also talks on environmental issues.

May 2008: The College of the Atlantic: “The Diversity of Maine’s Legacy”.

April 2008: University of Southern Maine. “The Role of Sports in Higher Education.” Portland Seadogs Baseball game.

February 2008: Fulbright event at the University of Maine Farmington. Visit to the new LEED “green” Education Center; Lecture: “The Role of Alternative Energy”.

November 14, 2007: Maine Chapter Fall Event. The Cumberland Club, Portland. Music by the USM Jazz Essentials. Speakers Mark Beaudoin (USM) and Emmanuelle Chaulet, (USM).

September 2007: Fulbright event at Southern Maine Community College; visit to The Gulf of Maine Research Institute.

June 16, 2007: The Maine Chapter is officially affiliated at the national Fulbright Association’s Board of Directors meeting.
